The historic ship Kilikia
The main landmark of Port Ayas. Kilikia is an exact replica of a 13th-century Armenian merchant sailing ship. Over four years, it travelled almost 28,000 kilometres, visited 25 countries and called at 65 ports, retracing the routes of Armenian merchants and sailors. You can explore the ship on your own or book a guided tour in advance.
Armenian cooking workshops
Learn to prepare Armenian dishes together with local women from the village of Artanish. Depending on the season, workshops include gata, zhingyalov hats – a traditional Armenian flatbread filled with herbs and khapama, baked pumpkin with rice, dried fruit and honey. Tea is served during the workshops. Advance booking is required.
Beach and lakeside relaxation
Port Ayas has its own wide beach with a volleyball court and several relaxation areas. There is also a barbecue area, available by advance booking, as well as hammocks and woven chairs in the shade of the trees.
Hiking around Artanish
From Port Ayas, you can take a walk along the lake or follow a route towards the Artanish Peninsula. We will share route recommendations and suggest places to see along the way.
Khash with White Wine
We are lovingly bringing this traditional Armenian experience back to life by Lake Sevan at Port Ayas. Exceptional khash, freshly baked bread and a glass of chilled white wine will open the door to a truly unforgettable experience. Gather your friends and come to Lake Sevan. Romantic picnic on the ship
A picnic on the deck of Kilikia is a special way to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, make a proposal or simply spend an evening together. We prepare a basket with snacks and wine, light the string lights, lay out an Armenian rug and provide warm blankets. The picnic must be booked in advance and is available at an additional cost.
